  I have been a Wool& customer for almost a year, and I have carefully observed the various models who appear in advertising. I have noted decent racial & ethnic diversity as well as the addition of plus sized models which came about as the result of customers advocating for that. Yet I (and others) am still waiting for Wool& to include models with dark skin. I have not recently seen a single model with dark skin. And I mean dark as in skin color categorized as Types V and VI in the Fitzpatrick taxonomy. If there can be a concerted effort towards size, body shape and height inclusivity, then I wonder why the same thing can’t happen to eliminate or at least reduce the phenomenon called Colorism (a societal preference for light over dark skin that is an extension of the belief that some skin is 'prettier' and 'more desirable' than other skin) that still persists in both the beauty and fashion industry.

  So important. I'd love to see more black and brown skinned models, as well as those with disabilities, visible Bellies, assistive devices, aging bodies, tattoos and more.

  Yes!
  If only light skinned models are used to represent the clothes wearer, it may be more difficult to envision themselves belonging in that dress.

  I agree. The colors of the dresses are sometimes difficult to compare in under different lights. Seeing someone wearing a particular shade dress in a different skin tone often makes it even more difficult to decide if it’s a complimentary shade for the shopper.

  Because this poster has only been a customer for a year, she may be unaware that the brand launched with a plus sized Fitzpatrick VI model. The assumption that the brand only began to include plus sized or darker skin models after customer feedback is incorrect.

  I applaud Wool&'s efforts toward size inclusivity among your products and models. Please make a similar investment in reflecting the diversity of skin tones in the population.
  
  It is not only important for your customers of color to see themselves represented on your website and in advertising, it is also important to customers making choices about the kinds of companies we wish to support.
  
  Wool& has an opportunity to lead in the fight against colorism. While I am not an expert in this area, I've found Harvard professor Dr. Ellis Monk's research and the Monk Skin Tone Scale helpful in understanding how people and organizations can be intentional about the impact we have in eliminating or perpetuating colorism.
